To our second Home : The Bernabeu (Highlights)

The second leg of the Super cup

14 and counting. Photo : FcBarcelona.com

Before the evening could end in an overwhelming victory at home, a Valdes blunder in the end resulted in the score line 3-2. That means there's everything to play for at the Bernabeu.

Here we bring you only the highlights of the preview to the game. The complete review can be found here. Click to continue.
  • Messi last week equaled the highest number of goals by a Barcelona player against Real Madrid (14). Who can bet against him increasing the record.
For your information, the all time top scorer in clasicos is Alfredo Di Stefano of Madrid (18 goals).

  • This is the 221st time these two sides are meeting. Can you guess who has won more times?
It is tied. Both have won 87 times. The remaining matches have drawn. Can Barcelona overturn the scales after 80 odd years and make it 88-87?

  • A draw will be enough for Barcelona to clinch the title but a 1-0 or 2-1 victory for Madrid would mean the trophy would head towards Real Madrid. A 3-2 would mean the game would go for extra time like it happened the last year.
  • Real Madrid have not  won the last three official games. Lets hope the number reaches 4!
And you might be wondering why I called Madrid our second home? Well, it's been 8 clasicos since Madrid last won at home against Barca (4-1). Mourinho has never won at home against Barca. (3 losses, 2 draws)

News : Fabio Coentrao is banned for the match for his disgusting and shameful outburst against the referee! Expect Pepe to start for Madrid and new signing Modric (from Tottenham) could feature as well.
For Barca, Alex song may play his first clasico. Puyol injured his cheekbone but he still may play.

Expect goals!! And action!! And Drama!!
